What types of Skips are available to hire?

Two types of Skips are available : – Covered and Open.Open skips are the most popular and frequently used; however, covered skips, in which the contents are protected from weather conditions, and can be arranged as per availability at extra cost.

What Skip Size do I need for my site? 

All your heavy mixed construction waste and soil 6 Yd to 8 Yd Builder size skip is recommended. Light weight waste is suitable for 10 to 16 Yd Skip. Same way for large construction sites 15 Yard to 20 Yard Roll on is available for heavy mixed construction waste or soil or muck waste. And 30 to 40 Yard Roll on is only for very light rubbish or wood. If you need more advice on which skip would suit your needs, please call our sales team on 020 3651 9777 who will be happy to answer all your questions.

What can I put in the skip ?

Skips are for non-hazardous waste such as building debris, general waste, inert waste, wood, metal, household and builders waste. If you need to dispose of hazardous waste you need EA permission and special containers. It is illegal for you to mix hazardous waste with non hazardous waste. If you’re unsure that your waste is suitable, give us a call. We also offer a range of hazardous / specialist waste disposal services, including asbestos.

 What is not allowed in a skip?

Materials not allowed in a skip are :  Fridges, TVs, computers, computer monitors, gas bottles, chemicals and solvents, batteries, clinical waste (such as syringes, soiled dressings, medicine bottles), plasterboard, tyres and asbestos. Gas bottles, Pesticides, Anti-freeze, Paint, Waste oils, Motor oils, Vehicle batteries, Tyres, Fire extinguishers, Florescent tubes and light bulbs.

How much do I fill the skip?

The skip should be filled no higher than the height of the sides and should be level loaded. By law you MUST NOT over-fill your skip. To ensure the skip is safe to transport, you must ensure that it is not filled past the top of the sides. Over-filled skips will not be taken under any circumstances. If you are unsure YOU MUST ASK THE DRIVER before you start to fill your skip.

Where can the skip be placed?

You We will place your skip in the best position to suit your need and fulfil the health and safety regulations. This could be on your driveway or on the road. Permit will be needed to allow you to have the skip on the road. You will also need the correct signage and lights. If you cannot place on private land, (remember the grass verge outside your house may not be owned by you!) Please call our expert team on 020 3651 9777.

 Do I need a permit?

Permits are required by most local councils for skips that need to be placed on a public highway or road. In most cases we will be able to arrange a permit for you. Few council require the hirer to apply for the permit which will be advised to you during booking process. Council permits may take upto 5 working days depending on the council, so please take that into consideration when ordering a skip to be placed on the road.

 What if i cannot get a skip licence?

If council does not allow the skip on the highway, we can offer a wait and load service, where our driver will wait on site while you load the skip.

 How do I order a skip?

When will i get the skip?

Same day service can be arranged but this depends on your location and the time of order.

We can guarantee AM and PM services next day, and will try our best to work with your requirements.

Booking with permit requirement would need prior notice  as it may take 3 to 5 working days as per council rules.

How do I pay?

Payment is taken at the time of the order. Our helpful and efficient sales staff will take your payment details over the telephone. We accept payment by all major credit cards including American Express. We also offer credit account to established companies as per our credit checks. Please  do contact our office and speak to our Accounts Department for further details.

What if skip is not filled by pick up day?

Please let us know if you need the skip for few more extra days.  Extension can be discussed and arranged as per the availability

Do you recycle my waste ?

Your waste will be processed at an authorised treatment facility according to all UK and EU legislation.
